ABOUT ME
I’ve always enjoyed coming up with creative solutions to problems, learning new things, and teaching others. I find instructional design endlessly engaging because I get to I get to regularly immerse myself in these fulfilling activities. As an instructional designer, I collaborate with organizations to address employee performance challenges by developing training programs focused on facilitating meaningful behavior change. I am particularly strong in writing learning objectives and creating assessment questions that align with business goals. The eLearning and blended learning solutions I have created are learner centric, interactive, and engaging.
Recognizing the importance of effectively changing behavior, I understand that, following a comprehensive needs analysis, engaging the learner is a crucial step for success. This is something I have studied and practiced over the course of my career as a K-12 educator. I possess extensive experience as an educator where I was able to hone my skills training and coaching other teachers in instructional strategies. Which is to say, I know adult learning principles and theories well.
Most of my career in education was spent abroad, living and teaching in Europe and Asia. I consider this experience a unique qualification for the role of an instructional designer, as it has honed my exceptional flexibility and adaptability. These qualities are particularly crucial for instructional designers collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs) and other significant stakeholders in various projects.
Moreover, my experience is a significant asset for companies with multicultural employees. I am adept at navigating diverse cultural norms and expectations while also being skilled in instructing multilingual learners.
In my spare time, I enjoy hiking with my dog, reading, traveling, and playing board games with my husband and friends.
